Whatever the level of the student and whatever the style, teaching the guitar for me is always a total joy.

l first picked up the guitar when I was fourteen and taught myself, with the help of the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page (Led Zepellin) and Steve Howe (Yes), listening over and over again to their riffs and licks until I made some semblance of a copy.  I am also profoundly grateful to Frederick Noad, whose 1968 classical guitar tuition book, entitled ‘Solo Guitar Playing’, has inspired many a young fledgling guitarist.

I have dabbled in a variety of styles, and in my late twenties and early thirties, spent time quite a bit of time playing folk music, especially Irish folk.

For the last ten years or so my inspiration has been Indian Devotional Music, and since 2006 have been playing lots of Indian Kirtan, and Kirtan Concerts with my wife, Sue Bharati (Bharati & Dinesh) We have been invited to play and sing at various events, including Yoga camps and Yoga studios, fund raisers, wedding and birthday celebrations, schools and nurseries, and festivals.

Through all the various phases I have continued to develop and deepen my appreciation for the classical guitar.  Since turning full time teacher at the start of 2011 I feel privileged to be able to share my knowledge and my joy of such a versatile and amazing instrument.

I am a member of the Register of Guitar Tuitors. and have an Enhanced Disclosure Certificate (CRB).
